Best Pizza Medellín 2025 - 10 Mouthwatering Creations

When you’re looking for the best pizza in Medellin, you’re spoiled for choice as the city offers a wide variety of quality pizzerias.

Most of these pizzerias have a wood-fired oven and serve pizzas that are almost as authentic as if you were in Italy.

In this article, we delve into some of the best pizzerias in Medellin that will definitely satisfy your cravings.

We did our best to find a good variety of pizzerias, including New York-style pizzas, Neapolitan pizzas, and Roman pizzas.

With that said, let’s move on to what we think are the best pizzas in Medellin.

Best pizzas in Medellín are:

1. Pizzaiolo

The best Neapolitan pizza in the city and possibly the best pizza in Medellin is at Pizzaiolo, a small pizzeria in Provence.

This popular joint basically does one thing and does it really well: making authentic, artisanal Neapolitan pizzas.

The restaurant has limited hours, from four in the afternoon to ten at night, but from the moment they open, delivery people and a handful of customers are already picking up their pizza(s).

It’s no surprise that on weekends there are at least six people working in the kitchen.

All of this is a promising sign.

Pizzaiolo’s menu is limited but offers enough to satisfy any pizza lover.

When it comes to Neapolitan pizza, we love simplicity and a Pizza Margherita is always our favorite choice.

For 27,000 pesos, you get a brick-oven Neapolitan pizza that can taste like the ones in Naples.

Simply perfect.

In total, there are twelve different pizzas to choose from, as their latest creation is not yet on the menu.

The Pepperoni Jam (40,000 COP) is the newest pizza available and is topped with pepperoni pieces, parmesan cheese, Burrata cheese, and a sweet dressing.

Burrata cheese is amazing with pizza, but the dressing is quite sweet.

Cheese with a sweet dressing goes perfectly, but personally, I love completely savory pizzas.

Don’t get me wrong, the pizza was very tasty and many pizza lovers will love it.

What I’m trying to say is that there are flavors for every taste here and that Pizzaiolo perfects the fundamentals of making an authentic Neapolitan pizza.

In other words, for the best pizza in Medellin, visit this place!

2. Pizzería Olivia

This wildly popular Italian restaurant now has eight branches in the city, namely in Belén, El Poblado, and Envigado.

Although the name of the restaurant says it’s a pizzeria, Olivia offers a wide variety of typical Italian meals that are exciting, beautifully presented, and well-seasoned.

Although this article is about the best pizzas in Medellín, visitors can also indulge in classic dishes such as their excellent Lasagna Mixta con Pan al Pesto (25,900 COP) or their Spinach and Ricotta (17,900 COP).

But let’s focus on their pizzas.

Customers can choose from three different types of pizza bases: Neapolitan, Romana, and Keto.

That’s right, Pizzeria Olivia serves keto pizza in Medellín, for those on a diet.

During our visit, we tried both the Neapolitan and Romana pizza bases, and we came to the conclusion that the Neapolitan pizza base was our favorite.

Let’s talk about toppings, which is – like the pizza base – another typical personal thing.

The pizza that blew us away, and which we suggest you try as well, is their Pizza Burrata & Tomate (39,900 COP).

Although it’s not a cheap pizza, the big mozzarella ball they put on top elevates this delicious wood-fired pizza to another level.

We also tried the Pizza Bianca with Romana base (22,900 COP), which was also a really tasty pizza.

Especially for the cheese lovers among us, it’s a good choice.

Olivia is also featured in our article on the best restaurants in Medellin, similar to the restaurant recommended above.

3. Cafe Zorba

Café Zorba can certainly compete with the best pizzerias in Medellin.

From the moment it opens its doors, the restaurant is packed with people, but luckily the place is big enough to accommodate a lot of hungry customers.

Cafe Zorba’s menu is limited and when it comes to pizzas, you can choose between the so-called Red Pizza or White Pizza and within each type, there are only a handful of different ingredients.

The Red Pizza has a tomato base, extra virgin olive oil, and Himalayan salt, while the White Pizza does not have tomato sauce.

The Red Basil Pizza (32,000 COP) and the White Chimichurri Pizza (32,000 COP) are two of the best-selling pizzas and recommended by most pizza lovers.

What makes Café Zorba’s pizzas so delicious is their thin and crispy crust.

In addition, the ingredients are not complicated at all and are of good quality.

Aside from the food, the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Although this is an article about the best pizzas in Medellin, we recommend another dish from Café Zorba, the Papas Bravas (17,500 COP).

Slightly spicy and flavorful, these roasted potatoes are basically a must-try starter and ideal for sharing when visiting this place with a group.

If you take a look around the restaurant, you’ll see that most tables have ordered this delicious morsel.

4. Romero

Let’s face it: there’s a big difference between the types of pizza out there.

Some pizzas are perfect for quiet nights on the couch watching your favorite Netflix series.

Others are made to be enjoyed at a trendy restaurant.

The former are often loaded with carbs, and you might feel a little guilty after devouring them all by yourself.

And the latter? It’s all about savoring the flavors, sharing good times, and appreciating the quality of the ingredients.

If you’re in the mood for something more refined, Romero is a great choice for Italian cuisine in Medellin, especially if you’re craving a high-quality pizza.

Their menu is extensive and includes everything from starters and pastas to stews, risottos, and of course, their star attraction: pizza.

At Romero, the pizza dough is thin and crispy, making the toppings the center of attention rather than the dough itself.

With 21 different pizzas to choose from, from the classic Margherita to innovative creations like the Carpaccio pizza, there is something for everyone.

Each pizza is generously topped with premium ingredients, justifying the price tag of around COP 50,000 per pizza.

As a truffle lover, the Trufada pizza was a no-brainer for me.

It is loaded with mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, and topped with a rich truffle sauce – a real treat for anyone who enjoys bold, earthy flavors.

5. Ammazza

With three different branches in Medellin, which are in Laureles, Provenza, and Envigado, it can be fairly said that Ammazza is a successful business.

Although the menu is limited, especially compared to other Italian restaurants like Olivia, what is served tastes amazing.

The main attractions are the pizzas and risottos, but customers can also choose from some pastas and starters.

For the purpose of this article, we will focus solely on the pizzas.

Ammazza can measure itself against the best pizzerias in Medellin and tops many lists on the internet.

The pizzas are made in a stone oven, a requirement to be on this list of the best pizzas in Medellin.

What makes Ammazza’s pizzas so special is the dough.

For those looking for a pizza with a thin and crispy crust, Ammazza is the place to go.

Customers can choose from twenty-one different pizzas, from the classic Margaritas to the Pulled Pork Pizza, all priced between 30,000 and 40,000 COP.

On our visit, we opted for the Ham and Roasted Peppers Pizza (36,500 COP), which was absolutely delicious.

Personally, I prefer another type of dough, but preferences are subjective.

Just take a look at the Google Maps reviews to immediately realize that Ammazza serves one of the best pizzas in Medellin.

Update 2025: I revisited Ammazza and went for the truffle pizza. The crust was completely different than the pizza I had before. More fluffy yet crispy on the outside. As shown in the pictures, there is quite a difference in crust, and I recommend you ask for this specifically before ordering.
